The Days of the DigiCom Are Numbered

This information applies only to customers whose systems currently send alarm signals to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) via a Digital Communicator (DigiCom).

DigiCom technology has been in use in the UK for around 20-years or more and is essentially the same technology that was used for fax machines and the old dial-up modems.

As you are probably aware, telephone networks in the UK are undergoing upgrades to accommodate higher speed broadband services. These include migrating from copper to fibre networks and new cable networks sometimes known as NGNs. This is essentially removing the component that Digital Communicators rely on to send a signal.

At Fuzion 4, we aim to be prepared for the above network changes before any of our customers are at risk. For this reason and for a limited period, we have a Special Offer available exclusively to our existing DigiCom customers to upgrade to the latest remote signalling technology called DualCom DigiAir®, which sends signals via a radio path (GPRS) from your premises to the ARC, as opposed to the existing telephone-line based technology.

Security Company East Sussex Higher level of security

Your current DigiCom relies on the integrity of your telephone line to send alarm signals to our ARC. These telephone lines are susceptible to accidental or deliberate damage, which means that your property could be left unprotected without a functioning alarm system.

DigiAir® uses radio technology to overcome this threat and, in addition, sends a polling call to the monitoring centre every 5 hours. This is almost five times as frequent as your current system.

Security Installers East Sussex No call charges or dedicated lines needed

Every time your DigiCom system sends a signal to our ARC, you are paying for the call. This call charge could be incurred every time the system is set, unset or activated depending on the age of your system.

If you have a dedicated phone line used by your alarm system, this can be disconnected, as DigiAir® does not need it, saving you quite a substantial amount on the quarterly standing charges.

Security Companies East Sussex Future Proof
No matter what happens to your telephone line in the future, you can rest assured that neither your system nor your security will be affected.
Security East Sussex 4 networks are better than 1
DigiAir® operates using a multi-network WorldSIM®, so it will transfer to the strongest available network in order to deliver your alarm signal, quadrupling its reliability and your property's security.

Special Free Offer

We will install and commission the new DigiAir® hardware, at the time of your next service visit, FREE OF CHARGE, complete with a new 5 year warranty (DigiAir hardware only). Once this offer has finished, the cost to install DigiAir® will be between £150 and £250 + VAT depending on your system.

What's it going to cost?

As mentioned above, Fuzion 4 is happy to cover the cost of the hardware and installation to ensure the continued reliability of your system. There will be a small increase in your annual monitoring charge, but this should easily be offset by the savings in call charges, as you will never pay another call cost associated with your intruder system.

Do I Have to Change?

No. In view of the benefits to you, detailed above, we can't think of a reason not to change, but if you want to stay on DigiCom you can.

We will contact you approximately one month prior to your next service visit to confirm all the details on costs so that you can make an informed decision.

A Fringe Benefit

If you have a suitable control panel (and many of our customers will) DigiAir® will enable Engineer Remote Access to carry out diagnostic checks and get status reports from your panel.

We may be able to resolve problems without a site visit, but even if a site visit is still required, we will already be aware of the nature of the fault allowing us to minimise the time on-site and make sure that our engineer is suitably equipped, including any relevant spare parts that may be necessary.
